Long-lost Zen. x
I havent blogged for ages, I know,
I havent blogged for ages, I know,
& I'm here to make up for lost time!
(:
It's gonna be a long & sappy entry on my journey in Saints bowling so far
(:
I remember one year ago,
I almost let my chance to get into SAJC slip.
It's Marian,
dear Marian,
who gave me that confidence to try DSA despite my ugly MidYear score (30).
And what do you know,
I got in!
=D
It was definitely one of the most tensed,
most anticipating moments of my life next to O Levels results day.
I remember asking Yew Liang, Marian, Regina about whether they've received the acceptance letter.
When I did,
it was the happiest moment ever
(:
I needed to come to a school where I would actually be proud to be in,
and somewhere I could bowl.
Imagine the joy I'm in now
(:

6 months in,
bonds among the Saints bowlers were made,
& the feeling of home whenever I'm in the team makes me feel comforted
(:
It's a totally different feeling from class & in school.
No books, no lectures, no homework.
You just need your love and passion for bowling.
Being with the same group of people who have the same interests and goals as you do makes it even more special and make you feel like a family.
It doesnt matter who wins,
or who loses.
(Despite me not doing well in A Div now dont make me feel sad anymore)
It's whether the whole team wins.
That's the reason why,
(:

That's the reason why,
when my team got 4th for team event,
that was when I felt most upset.
I was with my team (Michelle, Regina Yim and Liz).
There was much energy, encouragement and hope.
Though we did not win,
I'm still glad and I can hold on to this memory cos we did it as a team,
and that we did our best

(We had only lost by 96 pins)
Am really proud of the other girls and guys who maintained last year's standings,
as Uncle Adam says,
If you go down, the only way to go now is up..
While it's difficult to maintain.
((:
On to South Zone,
where me, Elis and the 2 Reginas got 2nd for girls.
Regina Yim had to forgo her mugging plans in the morning but it was a good alternative to have bowled yea?
(:
4 teams were sent,
2 boys teams and 2 girls teams,
and all 4 won 1st, 2nd, 1st, 2nd.
Did we do a job well done of sweeping the competition or what.
Haha.
It wasnt a fair competition with secondary school bowlers,
I must say,
but it was that way that day.
There's still National Age Groups for some of the guys soon.
ALL THE VERY BEST TO THEM!
(:
After South Zone,
that marked the end of bowling season.
That also marked the end of the seniors' Saints bowling journey
):
6 months with them was a really really great experience.
Bitching sessions,
bowling trainings,
movie & dinner outings,
A division,
South Zone,
bbqs,
stayovers,
little gifts and cards of encouragement from them,
our very reliable captains and the ex-co,
who proved to us are really really sweet and sometimes wacky people,
our wonderful teammates/family/friends,
including very prominent characters such as
the 2 Korean popstars in our team (one Bae Yong Jun look-alike and one half Korean),
a really skilful spinner skinny guy who's nicknamed as 2-D(imensional), Yi Quan,
2 Indonesians, David and Edwin (not racist here!),
a senior whom we love who's dubbed as 'Ice-Queen', Liz (:,
our dear "100% GLAM" captain Victoria who always goes "OMG I LOOK SO UNGLAM IN THAT PHOTO! DELETE DELETE!",
the many many SJI bowlers whom I first thought were daokias (not anymore though!),
and the many many others who are special to the team in one way or another
(:
our caring teachers-in-charge,
our fantastic coaches,
yes, the wonderful memories in this short space of 6 months.
Love you all loads!!!
=D
Even with the little conflicts that we have,
the minor setbacks,
the many fantastic returns definitely outshine the bad ones
(:
Hopefully we'd be able to combat the little evils that have crept up upon us,
because I still believe that we're one team,
after all.
Respect for each other as teammates & respect for each other as friends may be 2 different stories,
but I really do hope that we'd have full teammate respect in our team.
Here's to another year to Saints bowling
(:
