Went to the National Dental Centre today for a consultation appointment.

The dentist checked all my teeth.

Had an X-ray done too.

You had to bite on this white stick while the machine goes a round around your head.

It was pretty cool.

After that the dentist showed me and my mom the X-ray.

Now, here's the interesting part.

Not one, not TWO, not THREE, but all FOUR wisdom teeth can be seen in the X-ray!

Here's the part where I went 'what-the-hell?!'

BOTH my left and right lower wisdom teeth are impacted against my second molars,

meaning they grow towards my second molar instead of vertically upwards.

I tell you, when I saw the X-ray I was like, hoping that the X-ray showing right wisdom tooth (let's call it WT) which I saw growing horizontally was just a reflection of the left WT.

But of course, it was not.

The X-ray showed my whole set of teeth.

The upper WTs are very guai.

They grew vertically.

But because when you close your upper and lower jaws, each upper tooth must coincide with a lower tooth.

Since the lower WT needs to be extracted for whatever reason, your upper WT needs to be extracted too.

Why?

The dentist says that it's because

1) Extra care is needed since there is an extra tooth. Flossing would be difficult.

2) The upper WT would grow about 1mm every year, thus when you grow older it would be a very long tooth sticking out from your upper jaw. It would knock against your empty gums at the bottom since the lower WT had been extracted.

3) The tooth is of no use to you since it cannot break up your food with it. You need a pair (lower and upper teeth) to break up your food successfully.

THEREFORE,

in WTs surgery a pair of WTs are usually removed.

Hence tomorrow, my left set of WTs would be taken out.

(My right set of WTs would most be prolly taken out after the KL trip :/)

Will be under local anaesthesia,

which the left side of my mouth would be unable to feel pain while they perform the surgery.

Not too afraid of that part.

Enquired about the J2 girl in our school who had some memory loss after her WT surgery.

Dentist said that she might have been under sedation (Reduction of anxiety, stress, irritability, or excitement by administration of a sedative agent or drug).

Haha so that means I wont forget anything la.

Regina was saying that she'd bring things and make me remember her again.

Like her big fat pencil case which I had happened to DREAM about.

I dreamt that it got lost and it was tragic for me because there are all sorts of pens and pencils and all the cool stationery in it.

Hahaha okay that's kind of lame.

Charlene wanted me to write her name CHARLENE TAY XIA LING on my hand before I go for surgery.

Haha they're damn cute la.

Having one week of MC from school, but will go back!

I miss school already.

Yay I will be able to go for Orientation 2!

Heard that there would be Boot Camp during the first 2 days organised by the PE Department.

Haha okay I'm quite excited now.

It'd be like PT.

And we bowlers dont do PTs at all.

So.

Will be quite cool.

Practising a new technique now.

Break wrist at swing, cup when coming down and break wrist again with a forward roll at release point.

My timing also changed.

Dropping my ball into a swing only at the third step.

Yep, a whole new bowling style.
